Well..thought I had it all figured out and was going to go with an L4060 - but desiring a smaller tractor I really liked the size of the L3901 - so I started exploring the L3560. Really like the size and ability to get the premium features over the standard L series...

Anyone have any bad things to say about the L3560 that would cause me to think twice about it ? How about the 3 cylinder engine vs. the 4 cylinder in the the L4060..

The one real problem I see is that on the BH77 hoe with this L3560 I cant get a hydraulic or even a mechanical thumb -- that sucks.

Pretty sure if I get the L3560 I'd go with the LA555 instead of the LA805 and go with the 66" wide bucket. Also most likely to keep the implements to the 72" ones instead of the 60" ones...

Any opinions or advice about an L3560 is much appreciated....

Well I love mine, but I don't have a back hoe. Seems like the thumb would be a solvable problem though? I think I noticed that you can order a 3560 with a mid pto, but mine doesnt have one, so I think you need to play on the build my tractor part of Kubota's website, and or meet with a really knowledgeable sales person to see how you would like it outfitted. Not sure what I would do with more horsepower if I had it. Loader, bucket, rear blade are nicely matched to power and traction. I have loaded R4s.

I've had my L3560HSTC for 4 yrs. I would have gone with the L4060 but I have a height restriction at my barn and it wouldn't fit in. The 3560 clears the overhead by about 1". I got the BH-92 last year with the hyd. thumb, works great!

I have the same setup u r going for and simply love it.

I don't worry about the backhoe Bc my buddy has a big old Case. But for what I use my tractor for it's perfect. I use it 75% for deer and turkey plots, setups and tear down of seasons, and keeping our family playground of 40 acres groomed. The other 25% to help friends and just play. [emoji12]

I don’t understand when building the L3560 on kubota website it won’t let me add a mechanical thumb onto the BH77 backhoe ? Not letting you add a hydraulic one I can understand but why not a mechanical thumb ? And no I don’t want to go up to the LA805 bigger loader...

I think my L3560 is a great tractor, does everything I need it to do and never lacking for power. When I bought it I didn't know you could get a mid pto for it but at the 400hr service I bought the parts and added it so I could run a front snowblower. I was told after I did this I wouldn't be able to add a backhoe because the subframe would not allow me to attach the subframe for the quick connect for the front blower. Couldn't be happier with the L3560 though. Good luck with your decision.

ccs, I don't know why a bigger bucket is a problem for you, I love the big bucket and sometimes when dealing with snow banks, I wish it were BIGGER. I load firewood in it to move it, and a long gravel drive that the large bucket is great for moving gravel.

The mechanical thumb is listed as
an option on the L3560. Under backhoe options.

The Bh 92 is also an option, and it is available with hydraulic thumb.

You are trying to configure it with equipment that is not matched.
The BH77 is not made for the Grand L's, the BH92 is, but will require you to go with the bigger loader to make the subframe work with it.

jajiu -- I have an M5-111 with an 84" bucket when I need larger --- this is to be a smaller more nimble, "everyday chore" tractor....

beckmurph -- the hydraulic and mechanical are "listed as options" but they are grayed out - meaning you cant add them....only way to add them is to go back and get the larger loader meant for the L4060 and then add the 9' hoe and then it will let you --- but how I want it configured (LA555 and BH77) - you cant add via the website in a build.

North Idaho --- do you think the smaller framed L3560 can handle the bigger LA805 loader and the bigger BH92 hoe ? (AND HANDLE THEM WELL AND WITH EASE?) -- I hate max out a machine and push to limits

I'm sorry I gave partially bad info, on deeper digging the BH77 can be equipped on it, but I stand by the "it's not matched and made for it".

BH77
BH4985 Subframe and Mount kit
BH1976 Mechanical Thumb kit

But to answer the other question, yes I think it's fully capable of running the BH92, I would load the tires and get wheel weights, and yes upgrade to the heavier loader.
The second reason for the heavier loader is front weight.
The whole package would run you a little more $$, but you would end up with a much tougher setup, more like the commercial setups.

Also with the BH92 you have the option of a mechanical or hydraulic thumb.
Once you go hydraulic you'll never want to go back to a mechanical! ;)

North Idaho - just got off phone with Kubota dealer -- getting conflicting info between dealers....

Can you or anyone confirm that the L3560 and the L4060 sit on the same frame (size) ?? I was originally told the L3560 sits on slightly smaller frame and then the L4060 and up move to a bigger frame.....?

I have a 3560 with an 805 loader. The specs in my manual say the wheel base for the 3560 is 71.1 inches and that for the 4060 and 4760 is 74.6. The min ground clearance is 13.5 vs 14.2.

So the 3560 is smaller frame in a bunch of other parameters too, height, width etc, not by much, 2 or 3 inches.

The fel lift capacity 1590 lbs is the same for the 3560 and the 4060.
The 805 loader has been fine on my tractor.

Yes the L3560 has a slightly smaller (thinner) frame than the L4060, even though oddly they list them as the same weight????

Sheepfarmer points out that there is a difference in length, height, and width but most of this difference is because the L4060 is equipped with taller, fatter tires.
The frame height and possibly length appear to be the same but could be inches longer if anything.

Now here is my slight dilema with the issue:
That frames only job is to hold the front axle to the engine, it does give the rear any more or less strength, that's all done with the clutch housing.
It's not like a Truck that the frame extends from the front to the rear.
This is why it's super important to get a good BH subframe to keep the strength up.
That transfers the force to the strongest point which is the rear of the engine.

Now will a heavier front frame help, Yes, but are you going to be pushing and lifting so much weight across uneven/rough ground that it's going to greatly effect you, probably not. ;)

Kind of just to the point where I am seriously considering just getting the L3560 and all the implements I want -
skipping the backhoe altogether and getting a Kubota mini ex -- either a U25 or U35-4....then no issues !! LOL

Are you guys all running the LA555 or the LA805 loaders on your L3560’s ??
