This page from the Kubota website states otherwise.

B7001 is clearly listed on this sheet.

Aside from each of us stating one thing or another, where can I find a source that says a B7001 serialized unit is indeed a B7100?

Thanks
Are you being deliberately obtuse? I posted one source, others have provided the benefit of their experience and you can check your serial number with your Kubota dealer if you still don't want to believe us. For that matter, go to Kubota's website and find the ROPS retrofit program page. Enter your serial number there for automated confirmation.

Make a call to Coleman Equipment, 913-422-3040. You could ask for parts or service. Tell them your disbelief of your tractor not being a grey market machine and ask them to confirm what it is. They will need your serial number. Then you should have the answer directly "from the horses mouth"!

Then come back and tell us what you hear.:D

Hi Zogman - to get back to the original topic - I have a Makissic Merry Mack TPH 122 on my B7100 and it is nicely matched to the tractor. I bought it used for $800. They are available new for $1800 or so. What kind of use do you plan? Tree removal exclusively or do you shred garden waste as well? For the latter use the hammer mill is fantastic! I did buy a bar screen for wet material as the 1” holes clog on fresh wet leaves.
PS - my B7100 also has a “7001-xxxxxx” serial number stamped on the frame. It is a US market tractor. Trust that the members here know what they are talking about and they just want to steer us straight. ***128522;

I've been LISTENING, commenting and benefiting for years, Skeets. I'm sure you didn't mean to imply 'country bumpkin' and 'highly educated' are mutually exclusive terms. I suspect in many regards we'd both use country bumpkin as a sincere compliment! I've been called that many times and they sure didn't mean it as a compliment when it was said! Sometimes a thread can take a turn for the worse and it's a bummer to see a harsh element enter into an otherwise productive discussion. A little levity never hurts.

Zogman, Understand that we are not saying this to mislead you, quite the opposite.

I think I already said twice that the serial # will start with B7001-xxxxx but will still be a B7100. ;)

The fact that Kubota worked on it says it can't be a B7001, it's illegal for them to work on it if it is a grey, it's even illegal for them to sell you parts for it.

Does Kubota's corprate Data base satisfy you on it being a B7100?
Note: If you had a grey it would come up with an error or not found!

Thanks gentlemen. I will move forward knowing that my tractor is a B7100.

Lencho, thanks for the tip on that PTO. I will keep my eyes out for one f those. That is exactly what I want to do. Most of the branches that I want to chop are the 1-2" variety.

Thanks again.

Sorry for me being obtuse. I hate it when that happens!

100% NOT grey. (unlike the owner)
