I have a B2650 and would like to get something that I can use like a brush hog, but also rotate up 90 degrees to trim the trees along a road or path.

I've seen a couple ditch and hill flail mowers for Cat 1 with hydraulics that would do everything I need (offset and tilt). I'm worried my tractor either won't run them, or more of a concern, that the implement will be too heavy for my B2650.

Here are three mowers I have seen:
FH-AGL 48" from Betstco
Peruzzo Fox Cross 1200 47"
Maschio Girafetta (too big)

The Farmers Helper FH-AGL is certainly the cheapest. It's requirements are listed as 3400 lbs tractor/loader, 20 HP, and it weighs 675 lbs, per Betstco website.

The B2650 only weighs 1800 lbs, plus the loader and the ballast in the rear tires (Rim Guard).

Anyone have experience with these mowers? Do you think I'll be OK, or is it not going to work?

The Peruzzo at 47" weighs 573 lbs and they show a picture of it on a BX on the Farm Equipment 24-7 website.

Just because they show it doesn't mean it will work right.

You B2650 is 19.5 HP at the PTO and it's looking for 20 to 40 HP, so just on that fact alone it's going to be really lacking.

And weight and leverage is going to be a factor, I wouldn't want an 573lbs of flying blades twisting around on the side of a tractor that's not a whole lot more than that.

Read this post for something much lighter, cheaper, and lower HP requirement that does ditches and hedges.

Hi Traumadoc2b: I also have a B2650/cab and I am looking at the same Peruzzo 47" offset/ditch bank flail mower. Did you end up purchasing one and if so... how has it performed so far?

I'm most concerned with how stable the tractor may be with this mower leaning off the right side at full extension.

Thank you
