Yes, as the titel says I need to build a roll bar for my L1802dt (grey Market). I use the tractor mainly in the woods and already had a few scares... So it’s really time for a roll bar.
I am skilled enough with my welder and bandsaw... But I do need advice... Where to attach the roll bar to the tractor...? As this model does not seem to have any attachement points.

On the web I have seen a picture somewhere (can’t find it anymore). Somebody took of the top link attachement L bars and replaced them. He drilled the holes to re connect the top link. The L bars went up, angled a bit backwards to go around the back side and he connected the roll bar to it... I am afraid that when a rollover acures that cast iron bits wil break. The roll bar would be strong enough with 80 x 40 x mm square tube, 3 mm thick, I suppose?

What is your opinion? Maybe Somebody addressed this isseu already? Please let me know.

That's where I'm planning on attaching my home made ROPS,I have a grey market ZL2202DT using 2x2x3/16 tubing seeing as tractor is in the 2000 lb range it should work, and yes dont forget the seat belt.
I'm going to gusset the heck out of it at the attachment point near the PTO with 1/4 " plate

I have a foldable ROPS that came off of my Cub Cadet Zero Turn mower..... it's probably perfect for what you need. Look at the ROPS for a zero turn ans see if it would do for you

1 1/2"x2 1/2" or 2"x3" even at 1/8" would be much stronger. ;)

Thanks for the advice.

If I read correctly using the upper arm support mount to support it, it should be fine?

That's where I am planning to mount it,did see some pictures of some mounted there, just going to use longer bolts and "sandwich" the ROPS between the case and upper arm support

Look at first picture...

I think through the rear wheel may be what he saw as a ‘cuda but I think he has an overactive imagination about old muscle cars
