I have a line on a non running b7100hst 2wd someone is selling for about $500. It was apparently running a year ago, but now the engine is shot, so he is parting it out.

Can I be confident that the rear end parts are useable for mine? I am not sure of the serial numbers on either. He does not know the year of his, and I guess I don't know the year of mine. But if most of the parts are interchangeable, it sounds like a good deal to me. Should I?

You have a 50/50 chance that it's the same housing.
If you get the entire rear end your odds of it working are a lot better!

I haven't been on here much recently. I just bought a second house myself and that takes up most of my time.

I could make you a good deal on just the rear end.

Let me know

His offer is for the entire 2WD tractor, with 60" belly mower, partially disassembled, for $500. A great deal, if the parts fit.
shoot the MMM is worth twice that almost ! You could sell piece by piece and get all your money back and then some !

I agree with 85Hokie, worth it in parts!
Get it and hope for the best! ;)
