I checked the hyd pressure cause i was having issues lifting 300 lbs of weight with the fel. I was at 1450psi. Ordered shims for the pressure relief valve. I ended up putting in 3 of the 4's 2 2's and 2 of the 1's. I put the 4's in first rechecked. And so on and so on. End result only 1550 to 1600 psi. One time it jumped to 1950 to 2000, but quickly came way back down to 1500 range. Do i have something else that needs adjusted or is sticking? Im lost as to what to do next. Thanks in advance.

What hydraulic oil is in there?
Factory oil? Or?

Something's wrong, you should only need one or 2 shims to bring it up to pressure.

My guess would be a spring issue or a pump issue.

Thats what i am thinking. I'd hate to throw a pump on it if its not bad. Im wondering if something is sticking in the valve body that pressure relief valve screws into. Never had one apart.

What engine speed are you testing at? What oil temperature?

I would not have used that oil but that's just me. Not trying to start yet another oil war. Do as you please. That HST is a pain in the back side and very expensive to have to replace/repair and there is NO oil cooler to cool the cheap oil so you are on your own.

looking at the specifics on the technical data.....

I do not see where it meets the Kubota standard - then again....it is technical:D

I would change out the oil and replace it with Kubota something UDT/SUDT2 ......and see if ANY difference is seen. I would also change the filter and check the supply line.

engine speed is wide open. As far as oil temp not sure. Guessing around 60 degrees. The oil has been in there for maybe 20 hrs. It had a complete service then. As far as the oil i attached pics of the jug saying it meets or exceeds. All i can go by on that. Lets say it isnt the oil what do you check next.

I'd check the gauge you are using. Maybe find another to see if it's accurate.

Did you pull the screen? I'd check there to see of you have lots of gunk/metal in the HST.

Ok update. With 6 shims in the relief valve i got the pressure to 1850.outside temp in the 30,s. Today it is 65 i made a couple rounds with the disk. After a couple rounds it will barely lift the disk. Checked pressure it max at 1000 psi. If i pull back on the loader stick to raise the 3pt will go up another few inches. Im scratching my head

See post #6 and #7? That's where I'd start. I understand wanting to save funds, but sometimes what seems obvious isn't quite so.

I'd use that Champion 4000 in a mid '85 L tractor, nothing HST of any year. In fact, I have that fluid in a 1966 Case 730. It sure is a different vintage tractor than yours!

Its just weird how that psi will fluctuate so much. Even when it was cold it would. Ill try the kubota oil. Its really not a matter of funds, rather no easy access to a dealer locally. Im just wondering if the pump is getting weak, or something faulty in the control valve.

You sound like you have a problem with the FEL control.

I need the tractor's serial # and the FEL model (just to be sure) and serial number, as there are several options.

I keep running into a ton of different model options.

I need a picture of the valve, back side would be great to limit down to an exact model. ;)
