Hows it going guys! I've been reading through all the old threads, but not really sure if I am understanding correctly. I have read about keeping the ratios within 2-4% with 2% being more acceptable on a 4WD tractor. I have just a 2WD tractor, so does that still apply to me?

The tires that are on there now are diamond shaped for the rears and are size 13.6-16. They are beyond dry rotted, and need replacing bad. I am wondering if I can put these on the back.

12.4X16 06 CARLISLE TRAC CHIEF INDUSTRIAL R-4

Also the fronts are 23x8.50-12.

This is my first tractor, so I please forgive me if I say something dumb. I am trying to learn and don't want to waste money on tires that won't fit or aren't right. The tractor came with Turf Tires. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

As it is a 2WD tractor - you can place dang near any tires that fit the rims that dont rub the fender wells!

With 2WD - you might need chains to do some things down the road - pick a tire that will work for you - and one that will allow freedom to place chains on them in the future if needed.

here are the specs on original tires for your tractor :

Kubota B8200 Tires:
Standard tires (ag): Front: 4.00-12. Rear: 8.3-24 (2WD)
Front: 6-12. Rear: 12.4-16 (4WD)

Optional tires (ag): Front: 6.50-10. Rear: 12.4-16 (2WD)
Front: 6-12. Rear: 8.3-24 (4WD)

Lawn/turf front: 24x8.5-12

Lawn/turf rear: 13.6-16

The 2% and that is the only acceptable allowance applies to 4WD tractors
only. You can put whatever fits the rims but usually best to stay as close
as possible to what came on it for various reasons. You don't want it to high
or to low on either end basically.

Depending on what you use the tractor for, you could get a 16" tire for a pickup truck that has a tread that suits you....deosn't even have to be new!
