I was brush hogging today and my tractor shut down on me. I could get it to start back up a couple times but it would barely idle then die. Checked and it is getting fuel to the pump. What is the next step? Loosen the injector line nuts and see if it is getting fuel? Could it be electrical? Any help appreciated

What exactly did it do when it died?
Did it bog down , smoke, just quit, details are key here.

loosed up the injector line nuts today and as soon as I did fuel started seeping out so it looks like the injectors are getting fuel. All of the fuses looked good, so any ideas on what it could be. Got this thing sitting in the middle of the field and I need to finish brush hogging so any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

When it cranks is there any smoke?
As you crank it there should be a steady pulse of fuel coming out of the loose injector lines.

How long since you changed fuel filter? May get enough fuel to run slow rpm, but die when asked for more fuel.

My Grand L3940 shut down on me in the middle of bush-hogging also. Found the fuel line clogged at the tank. I removed fuel line from filter housing and blew back into the tank. It took some effort to blow out the clog but once i did it flowed freely. I also did not know about the valve on the injector pump that you open to remove air so thirty minutes later and a lot of cranking it finally fired up and cleared out. It ran for another 4 hrs just fine. After I got it home, pulled the tank and got a quarter sized glob and alot of smaller pieces of who-knows-what out of it. Diesel fuel ain't what it used to be. Mine will get treated and the tank kept full during idle times from now on.
