Hey guys I’m new to this forum. I’m in the panhandle area and bought my MX5200 after hurricane Michael. While doing work yesterday my oil light came on. I shut the tractor down and checked everything. Somehow the plug came out. Put the plug back in and filled with oil. Now the tractor won’t start. There’s a loud click when the key is turned at the starter but nothing. Is the motor seized...? 2018 mx5200. Not sure if there’s a safety or anything I missed. Loaded it on the trailer to go to the dealership tomorrow. Any help would be nice.

Curious when was the oil last changed and who did it? The drain plug shouldn't just fall out.

It seems like the tractor should be under warranty given it's age, so I'd let the dealer contend with the diagnosis/repair.

Good luck.

Can you rotate the engine by hand to see if it is seized?

It should have a splined shaft sticking out the front of the engine where the crankshaft pulley mounts. Would be best if you had a socket to grab the nut that holds the pulley on the crankshaft and try to turn it there.

Actually, if the fan belt is tight, you can roll the engine over using that (least I can on my M's).

AS mentioned ....

dealer did the service, they should stand behind it - however, have heard the ol "stick hit the plug and knocked it out" story....

How did you find the plug btw? I would think by the time the light came on, the plug would be dozens of feet behind you and hard to locate.

Do you buy chance have Kubota insurance?
