Hi,

The horn isn't working in my L3940 cab. I checked the horn button and it is functioning properly. Tried the horn direct off the battery, good. Could it just be a wire or is there some other electrical component that could be gone? If it is the wire would I just run another?

It is a bit of a safety issue not having the horn. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Did you check the fuse (25amp)?

There is also a diode or at least that is what they are calling it in the wiring diagram.

Did you have 12 volts at switch or only verify switch continuity?

Here's a diagram you might find helpful.

Post back what you find.

200 mph has made a very good call.

Everyone is adding diodes these days because of electronic systems on tractors.

One on the horn circuit is a new one for me but clearly it is there in the wiring diagram.

This is the parts info from Messicks

Diodes usually blow because someone has hooked up booster cables or battery chargers wrong. Could this have happened to your tractor?

Hey Folks,

It***8217;s been a while but finally got around to getting the replacement diode. I took the dash covering off but can***8217;t seen to locate the diode. Any advice on where this would be mounted?

Thanks again.

Thanks again.

Found the diode, replaced with new one...still doesn’t work.
