Starting a thread on oil filters,
not on quality, but on what else fits or is oversized...

You just reached up to the box on the shelf from Messicks, and it's EMPTY...

You tore the old oil filter getting it off,
a new one will take a week to ten days to arrive,
what else can I use?

Kubota HH150-32430, 20mmx1.5mm thread
Crosses to a Fram 6607. Wix 51365, 2.6 inches long
Oversize is a Fram 7317, Wix 51358, 2.8 inches
Double oversize is Fram 3593A, Wix 51334, 3.2 inches
(Careful on this one, I have found a few cans that are a little larger, and a few with different gasket locations...

Kubota HH164-32430, 3/4-16 thread

Fram 7328, Wix 51311, 3.3 inches long
Fram 16, Wix 51085, 3.8 inches, slightly oversized
Fram 8a, Wix 51515, oversized, just over five inches long
Fram 977a, Wix 51773, double oversize, 7 inches long

Base should be the same for all of these, just the height changes....

And now for the small engine filters...
3/4-16 thread, used on small (15-20 horse) engines...

Fram 8170, Wix 57035, 2.3 inches long
Fram 3614, Wix 51348, 3 1/2 inches
Fram 3600, Wix 51516, nearly five inches..

The 3600/51516 also fits L200-260 tractors with the canister conversion...

If your having trouble getting a 3/4-16 thread oversize filter to fit on your small engine, a right angle adapter does exist.

Some good pictures here...

http://www.moparfins.com/Clairdavis/340ofa.htm

Note that nearly all 3/4-16 thread oil filters will fit,
so you may be able to run a SEVEN inch Wix 51773 filter,
if you feel the need...

Gonna look like a really big hemorrhoid, however...

Matt, l think you need to learn more about oil filters before you assemble a list of “what fits”.

I think Matt is trying to assemble a list of filters which might do in a pinch until someone can get an order back of their preferred kind. Knott, can you help him?

Direct cross ref. Is Baldwin B7285 20psi anti drain back.

The others are a B1400, B1402 and B1402. All with a 14 psi drain back valve.

Be careful with some filters cross ref. If the thread, gasket and can are the same they will cross it. But may not meet mfg. specs. There are different paper or even types of materials required to meet the mfg specs.

Older Mack trucks and the small Cat engines use the same tread, gasket and can. But they have different specs for what the mfg requires. So Baldwin has 2 numbers.

Some of the more "automotive" filter makers replace with one number.
