BX2360 - Mow with MMM Deck Fully Raised?

Is there any concern with mowing (BX2360 with 60" MMM) with the deck fully raised (i.e. fully lifted by the hydraulic control lever above the highest select-able cutting position)?
I thought I had seen some warning in my manuals previously - but I cannot find any wording again after reading through the manuals a few times today.

I've got some areas of my property that have overgrown a bit and it seems like it would be better on the mower to make several mowing passes starting with the deck fully raised and progressing downward. However, I'm not sure if I'd be risking some damage to the mid-mount PTO system by doing this.

Appreciate any insight you more experienced users could provide!

As long as the linkage allows it - and the PTO is not binding (both should be fine) then nothing wrong with it. Did it myself several times for the reasons you mention.;)

My manual states that the 4" position is the highest allowed. That being said, there is little difference on my machine between the 4" position (highest selectable height) and fully raised. Besides, there is nothing in the manual that warns against fully raising the deck while engaged. As you raise the deck, the shaft gets shorter and the u-joint angles actually become MORE favorable. I wonder if the concern is in regards to the deck being better able to throw a foreign object in any direction??? More of a safety issue than an equipment concern.

I do that all the time so I don’t sharpen up the rocks in the yard.

I do the same as John T said. No problems at all.

Yeah, I mow with the deck raised too. Just make sure the position control isn't in the "Top" position. Put it on 4" instead.

Mow an over grown shooting lane with my BX MMM in the TOP position so I can still raise and lower the 3 point without the the mower deck moving

I've done it many times over the years, but when the height is over 3.5" I notice the quality of the cut isn't quite as good.
