Out there some where
Having a strange issue that started last week. When I start my BX 2200 it starts but shuts off after releasing the key. It does this 4-5 times usually then it will stay running. Any one else have or had the issue?

Yes, the BX2200 does not do well if left out very much. I had to have my ignition replaced. If it quits running while working, it will be a fuel delivery problem and that's a rel bear to track down.

That can also be a symptom of a stop solenoid going out. ;)

I’m having the same problem. New battery, good fuel, fuel pump works, ignition switch replaced.
Where is the stop selenoid located?
Thanksin advance.

At the rear of the Injection pump.

Flip up your seat and your hood and check all of the safety switch connectors, you could have a loose one in there. I had a starting issue with my BX23s and an electrical connection under the seat was loose, plug it in and she started up great.

Pretty easy to tell if the stop solenoid is going south... Turn the key to preeat but not start and listen. If the stop solenoid is failing, it will chatter ot make no sound at all. If it's good, you should he the electromagnet grab the rod and pull it up. Listen closely it's faint but you can hear it.

Be careful about buying a new one. I suggest your dealer. There are a bunch on Amazon but IMO, all of questionable quality and fit. Different engines take different length stop rods.

I just had to get one for th 9 and it was a dealer item, ordered. Was about 2 times the Amazon price but I know it fits.

Since it starts at first, it may not be a switch problem. A safety switch will prevent it from turning over. I hit my PTO lever a lot....
