I have never owned a tractor before (ever). Going to pick up my new BX 2380 next week with front end loader and box scraper (industrial tires). I live on a hill (not to steep), and after hurricane Michael a couple months ago I had many trees down. After having about 20 trees and stumps removed and lots of rain lately the land is in terrible shape (erosion). My game plan over the next year or two is to terrace the hill. Looking forward to playing with it.

Welcome Aboard. You will really like your new tractor. Take time to get comfortable with the controls and using it before taking on big projects. Remember, we like tractor porn ie. pictures.

Do some research on FEL mistakes .....
we have all made them - and as one members says - we can never live long enough to make them all ourselves!

Low bucket while moving.....
pay attention to full bucket movement!

Buy spacers !
Buy skid plate for underneath.....

if you dont understand why the last two - do some online searching:D:)

Congrat's on your new rig!

You will be amazed at the work you can do, despite it's small footprint. They are over-achievers for sure.

Post up some pix when you get it dirty!

Welcome! As you start using your tractor, feel free to ask any question you have. You may think it's too elementary, but it can keep you safe and help others at the same time.

My #1 new tractor owner tip. Momentum is not your friends. Things you can do safely slowly are not safe done fast - if anything makes you think "I wonder if this is safe" then slow down. I learned that going around a corner fast with the _empty_ bucket up in the air can get your wheels off the ground....I shudder to think what you could do with a full one.

Another tip that many don't know (and I didn't until I saw it mentioned somewhere) is that your front wheels provide no stability - they're on a pivot. Only the back wheels are stopping your tractor from leaning. If you have a lot of weight on the front, the rear wheels aren't providing stability. Hence one of the reasons why you ballast the back when lifting heavy loads.

Eventually you may be on a slope and you will feel what people call the "pucker factor". Listen to it... when it just doesn't feel "right", it probably isn't.... ;)

This past Monday made a verbal deal over the phone with a dealer. They had one in stock with a mower deck and Turf Tires. Told them I wanted Industrial Tires and no mower deck. He said no problem and the tires would be in within the week. I called Wednesday just to check in. He said his boss did not want to sell it without the mower deck (paper work, he said) and the tires would not be in until mid January. I said "did your boss say you could not call me and let me know this". Don't people realize that customer service is a pretty big deal?
Anyway, I told him to forget it. Made a few more calls and found another one a couple hours away and $1,500 cheaper. Picking it up toward the end of next week.

That's a good looking tractor. Although it might be a bit clean. You'll need to get it working. :)

Nice looking building in the background as well as what looks to be a Mule.

Congrats on the new tractor. Your customer service story is hilarious.. Makes me really appreciate my dealer.

I was taught in sales, you sell what the customer wants and they'll come back and buy what they need! I guess those folks missed that lesson.

Nice looking setup there Allen!

I live closer to Panama City than Chipley. Chipley faired well compared to Panama City, Mexico Beach areas. Mexico Beach is basically gone. You could drive for a solid hour along the coast and see destruction and a lot further than that inland.
