I bought my Kubota B2150HST new in 1996. I have used my kub for everything. It has 1,114 hours on it now and I am having my first problem. I got on it and hit the reverse pedal and it started shuddering like a gear was slipping. I pulled it back into the shop and it did it in forward too. All the attachment's (bucket and PTO) work fine. I checked the hyd fluid level and it was just touching the stick. Added 2 1/2 qts. to bring it up to full mark. Still has the same symtoms. It is over due for the screen cleaning and filter. Would this be the problem or have I fried my trans. Can someone point me in the right direction.

Sounds to me more like a mechanical clutch issue.

What PTO driven implement do you have, that you could use to test it's operation?

Tiller is probably the best, get it hooked up and take it out and try and run it and move the tractor.
It will be much more pronounced in mid or high range on the drive.
If both shutter, or fail to operate it's most likely a bad clutch.
If the tiller works perfectly fine, yet the tractor still has movement issues, then it's more likely the HST has an issue.
