I have a mx5100 and my post auger is just to long. My tractor will not raise it but about 1 inch above ground,it's like a sore thumb to me.Can I shorten that auger in any kind of way?

Which auger do you have?

Most post hole diggers have more than one hole for the Angle Adjustment. Make sure to use the hole closest to the tractor for the most height.

I actually lengthened mine. Mine was too short to get a full 4 foot hole so I welded on a suitable length of schedule 60 pipe. You can shorten it. Just saw it off and redrill the hole for the shearpin.

My top link is in the bottom hole, but I will check out all options before I chop saw the shaft of the auger. I like how long it is but I don't like how it catches on every high spot when I'm moving. I do keep a chain around the auger and main frame to keep it tilted but that's not enough,it still catches on high spots.

It could also be that the three point is set to not go any higher via the control or the feedback linkage. ;)

with nothing attached to fully raised 3pt see if you can raise draft arms higher. If draft arms can be raised up by hand feedback rod isn't adjusted correctly.

Are there multiple holes in the lower links to attach the lift arms?

Seems some have two or three(?). Not familiar with MX at all.

If the links are attached to the one farthest out, lower links will lift more weight, but not as high as a hole closer to the tractor.

I looked up MX5100 on:

https://apps.kubotausa.com/illustrated-parts/

Agree to the legal, type in your model #.

I found the diagram. Looks like you have two points. I'd move it back toward the tractor, if not already there.

Unfortunately, I'm not smart enough to attach the diagram....

Thanks I'll try that and if it isn't that way my plan B is to weld a three inch 2 3/8s pipe spacer to a 4 inch angle iron and lower the hitch pins about 4 inches.

My Everything Attachments grapple on my little BX25D hooks up with inside pins to give me more range of motion... something else to consider.

I did it today,I welded two 2 7/8 pipe spacers on the angle brackets on the auger and another 4 x 4 x 3/8 angle iron on to the spacers and added two holes for my 3 point pins now I can raise the auger about five inches higher. hope it works
