Hey, I fessed up about it the last time, wasn't me this time! I promise.

I had the shop vac plugged into the power bar that's got the coffee maker, fax machine, the girls office computers, their under desk heaters and that rack mounted thing with all the blinking lights on it, but that was only for a few minutes and then the damn vacuum just up and quit working! Go figure. Just like that!

I took that as a sign to stop cleaning the service truck and get to the mall in time to get something for the Missus-hell it's Christmas tomorrow!

Yeeeeeeaah,

Fell asleep in your chair again, with a coffee in your hand, and shorted out the system.:eek::(
I would try and sell the shop vac story also.;):):D

Hello folks -

Yep, site died again tonight for about 1-1/2 hours around the 18:00-19:30PST time frame.

This is the same sporadic crash we've been seeing more and more lately (as the site gets busier). Spent a little while debugging it and I know what is not causing it. I have a theory on where to look next but will have to pick it up tomorrow.

Please do report in this thread if you notice any other odd behavior. Thanks folks! Appreciate the help.

Site performance has been terrible for me since about 5:30 pm yesterday till this morning around 10:00 am. Site would begin to load- orange banner across the top & some ads down the side, then stall. Sometimes a refresh would work, most times not. Occasionally the main page would load, then each individual forum would stall while loading. Don't think it's on my end, all other sites I access behave normally. Kind of a PITA, a partial load will not let me see any topics, but apparently clears the highlights that let me know which are new posts. Makes it hard to keep up.
Other than that, this is the best forum I've ever participated in, bar none. I appreciate all the work that goes into this, and hope you can find the problem.
Thanks!

The above mentioned loading problems are continuous now- if I click on a topic, I have to wait several minutes for the page to load. (if at all)
I have reset my browser, cleared all cookies, history, etc., but no improvement. Nothing has changed on my end, so I'm at a loss to understand.

Do you happen to use windstream? :p was having an issue for a few days like you described. Was having slow and strange loading issues for this site, but others were just slow, or no issues at all. Wasn't sure if it was my tablet, or this site. All of a sudden friday night the internet just fell out. Internet provider swore my wifi router tanked. but while I was on the phone with them, they had several other complaints come in from my area. Apparently they had a server issue up the road. Internet was back up the next morning with no issues, and now every thing loads properly.

Nope, I have Safari, no wifi, direct wire to Cox cable. All other sites perform flawlessly. (like this one used to)

Yeah, mine is acting real strange also today. It seems to be working flawlessly, pages are loading faster than I can remember. Hope there's an explanation that something was found or if today is just going to be a fluke.

Well, somebody must have fixed whatever the problem was… (fingers crossed, knock on wood)
The site is as fast as it's ever been today @ 5pm. Whoopee!

I am just curious. At 7 AM Atlantic Time (-4 GMT) OTT is not available for approximately 10 minutes. I noticed it as that is the time I am hitting my second coffee and have learned to move on for 10 minutes. Not a problem of any sort, just curious is this is a routine maintenance period.

Yep, and it was a rainy day in Jawjuh, so no werk got did... except to get delivery of a couple tons of "stack rock".

Tried to go on OTT to ask advice; thought I'd have the driver put the load on my utility trailer and use the B6100D to drag it into the back yard.

Having the server go down interferes with my emotional equilibrium about as much as having a power outage used to do.

Funny how things become so necessary to our existence!

Been having some problems here too. A couple of times during the last month, the site seems to freeze up when I'm on. When I click on a link I get a blank page with a server error message. No page on the website will come up when this happens. As for other sites, they work fine. This usually lasts from 30 mins to 2 hrs.

Don't think it matters, but I'm running Google Chrome on a Windows machine. Will try on the Mac next time this happens.
