Anyone know where (UK) I can source a fan belt for a 1980s B7001? Or anyone have the dimensions so I can order one that way? Many thanks.

I may but be able to find out on Monday, I know a tractor and farm equipment dealer just up the road from me, they will no doubt have the belt, just need to find size, they may know.

The Gray sticky section indicates in many respects your B7001 is the same as a B7100.

A B7100 belt from Messick's seems very cheap. The current part number 70000-73818 superceeds the previous part number 15231-72530

Part Number 70000-73818
Vendor Kubota
Messick's Price $9.36
Stock Quantity 12
Weight 0.10 lbs
Days to Order In stock
Replaces 15231-72530

Do you have the old belt? Selecting a new one based upon some simple measurements is doable.

The cross section of the top of the belt is the first must know. I suspect 1/2".

Running a 3/8" rope around the pulley's and then measuring its length will complete the puzzle.

Belts are described in the same numerical/alphabetical way by most manufacturers. For example from my memory, for my flat deck 72" mower uses a BP158 belt. I can go on ebay and search of BP158 and will see belts from Gates, Dayco, Carlisle and others all described as a BP158. Each company will have their own internal part number as well. The B indicates a belt top width of 5/8, the P indicates a belt with Kevlar cords and lastly the 158 represents the length of the belt measured around the outer surface of the belt. so a 158 belt is 158" long.

For a B7001 you wont need a kevlar belt although if you have a mid mount mower it would as the stress levels for the mower are high.

I suspect your belt will be 1/2" in length of an "A" belt.
