When running equipment in back of our 9540 the hydraulic cylinder will bind up/ stop in one direction, but not the other, when bringing up or letting down equipment. If I raise it all the way up and the let it down slowly it will work. Have 2 sets of outlets and I'm pretty sure it does the same on both sets. Haven't used the other set this year. Using it on a 10' disc, 4 bottom plow and a rowse scraper.

Thnx
Tim

Perhaps the couplers arent properly seated. Or they arent connected to the corresponding ports. One above the other, not side by each.
It has been done before, and hydraulics function, just not correctly.

If I understand you correctly, on a 2 hose system I should put one in each tier of ports?
Thnx

What Tooljunkie is saying is that are you sure you are using the same matching remote ports / outlets?
If there is 4, 2 are a pair for one remote function valve and 2 are a pair for the other remote function valve.

The other issue might be in a bad Quick disconnect fitting which is not allowing fluid to flow properly, and if it's doing it on both remote connections then It's on the implement side. ;)

Ditto what Wolfman said. Chased a problem on a 1 year old 1590 JD no-till drill for a week one time just to discover it was a bad coupler. It'd be rare to have a bad one on each pair of remotes though.

Don't have another tractor to hook it up, but it also happens on another implement. I will try changing out the coupler

Is there a difference between a "Poppet" tip and a "Ball" tip that might cause a probelem?

thnx Tims

Figured out the problem. The Female hydraulic connection on the back of the tractor is poppet design. The male end on the hoses on the were "Ball type". Everything I read I interpreted to mean "Ball and poppet are interchangable". I tried changing the ball hose ends to poppet and everything works great.
