No Poohbear, my PTO was cut to fit my tractor and roto-tiller prior to me installing the quick hitch. The hitch moves the tiller approximately 4***8221; rearward which makes the shaft a little bit short.

So the shafts have been cut prior to adding the quick hitch is what I am reading. If so you will need to get a longer PTO shaft. Doesn't Tractor Supply sale the shafts ?
As I said, no problem with a Kubota QH & LP mower.

Yes, but a PTO adapter is much cheaper than a new PTO shaft.

You don’t need to buy a complete shaft assembly, just buy the shaft tubing. Unless the u-joint assembly is welded to the shaft, most are built so the shaft is just slides in and is pinned. Most dealers carry stock blank shaft in both male and female.
