I did a search on here for "Safety Switch Test" and found this.

Definitely not your tractor, but gives you an idea, I hope.

Key switch could be an issue. Sounds like you do have a meter? All is checkable along the start circuit with your meter.

And you do have the WSM - - I think there is a decent electrical diagram if memory serves.

The screwdriver thing with the starter is just bridging the connections to it/solenoid to see if it will spin. You do not need to pull the starter to do it. Last time I did it was a '67 Chevy. Since I haven't done it in many years - I'm not qualified to coach that - it's also pretty tight down there.

Thanks for the help everyone! After a lot of digging, it turned out to be a loose starter wire. Somehow it worked itself just loose enough that it was no longer making contact.

Edit: I took some pictures of how I blocked my bucket in the "up" position so I could tow it to the garage to work on it:

Super - glad to hear - thanks for letting us know how you made out!!

So often, we never hear how things were, or weren't fixed.

Takes a lot of work to find a gremlin problem like that, but the good news is you found it!:D

Good for you!
