B2620 question

Want to upgrade the tractor without having to buy all new implements.
Who can attest to the tilling capabilities of the B2620 series?
I use an L1801 and while it can runs a 4 foot tiller it's VERY slow.
Till roughly 2 acres bi-weekly and it takes roughly 4 hours.

I have a 50" Befco tiller on my B2620 that works good cant say if it is going to be any quicker or not but I know for me tractor feels like it has enough horsepower to run a larger tiller

Thanks very much for the reply.
It's kind of a tough answer as I would need to know my current tilling speed and then of course yours.

I'm at the point where I have to decide between the top B series or entry-level L-series. With the b series I'm alright to stay with my current attachments.
Getting into the L-series may require larger attachments but maybe that's not true either.

I have a Howard 42" Rotovator, that I bought years ago for my L185DT. It worked fine with the 185, and I could put the PTO in 3rd - 1000 RPM - and turn field into flour in low gear. I'm using it behind my L3200DT now, and noticed right away that the 540 rpm PTO speed leaves a much coarser cut. So your overall speed may have more to do with the cut you want than the tractor horsepower. You are not saving time if you have to go over it twice.
You are gaining about 5-1/2 PTO horsepower over the L1801, so you should see some gain in speed.
If you consider a B2920 you gain another 2 PTO horses. The B3200 has another 2 horses still, but drops you to a single speed rear PTO, which might not do as well overall.
