The receiver or female part of the driveshaft got hit and now the male (mower side) will not slide in it (the one on the PTO side), the dealer wants $300 for this part alone and $100.00 for each Ujoint, anyone know a different source I can order online before I hit the driveline shop?

Thanks.

You could look on eBay, or possibly a farm store.
The joints might be available through NAPA.

Can you photo the damage to the female half?

Does the splined male half even start to engage?

Dave
Hi yes it does engage for about 1" then it wont budge, the female wobbled for a bit when someone engaged the front pto when the tractor was not in use.

My suggestion is to clean the female end internals really well and then see if you can see the spline damage.

A small metal bur or two can stop you from engaging the splines but with the right file and some patience you may be able to clean up the splines.

Is there a portion of the female end that is not splined but is rather an outer cover?

The male to female fit only one way, I did clean and dremmel the female splines and it still wont work, when it wobbled it must have hit something hard and is distorted the body of the female shaft.

Thanks

Probably someone on this forum has what you need laying somewhere. How about posting your needs in the "want ad section".
