Looking to pick up some M8x50 class 1.6.6 spare shear bolts for my SB1064 rear blower. These are impossible to find unless you go through LandPride.
Anyone have any sources?

I just use regular grade 5 bolts on my 3 point blower. They all shear the same

Thanks, the closest bolt is a 5/16 but is just a hair smaller in diameter. I have some Shear bolts from my Farm King that came with the pto but they are (grade) class 8.8. I didn***8217;t want to use them because they a bit harder than what the LP book calls for. I***8217;ll pick up some 5/16 grade 5 bolts. The LP dealer wants $3.17 a bolt and $9.99 shipping for the 1.6.6 OEMs that you can***8217;t find anywhere.

According to the Granger bolt chart the 8.8 class metric is comparable to a Grade 5 bolt. Anything less would be a grade 2 I believe.

Are you 100% positive they are class 6.6?

I only ask as I referenced ISO 898, Mechanical properties of fasteners made of carbon steel and can not find this class listed. Classes are 4.6, 4.8, 5.8, 8.8, 9.8, 10.9 and 12.9.

I was incorrect , the LandPride bolt is a class 1.6.6 not a 6.6.

For now I found some shear pins at Ace, they are a 307a which is a grade 1.They are 5/16s.
I ordered 4 spares from my LandPride dealer.

Farm king uses grade 8 bolts. I’m surprised LandPride uses such a soft bolt.

I believe you have your math reversed: 25 bolts for $18.00 would be 72 cents per bolt.

Ok, dealer called me back and said a metric 8.8 would be fine as that is equal to a grade 5.
He did say the LP bolt is indeed a 6.6 with a C 1 grading.

I've never seen a metric bolt referenced as C1.6.6, so it has peaked my interest.

It's not found in any ISO standards pertaining to metric bolts that I could find. Also Googled the reference C1.6.6 and it only returns references to Landpride's shear bolt. Nor could I find any 6.6 strength rating. Bottom line is I tried to find it myself, but have not been successful. So I'm relying on the collective wisdom of the forum members.

Fastenal store is about 10 miles from here and has everything in stock, for sale, no shipping cost. Just bought 20, A325 5/8" Dome Head Plow bolts, alloy heavy hex nuts and alloy split locks for my cutting edge on the plow I don't want to use this winter.

I came up with the same results. No info on them. The Land Pride Tech said they were a grade 2. Not sure if that’s even correct. Maybe they have them made and stamped for there own reference?

The Fastenal we had was great while it lasted. The closest store now it is about 45 mins from here.

The dealer said they use metric 8.8 which are equal to a grade 5. The LandPride Tech said to use a grade 2 which is what they sell in metric grade 6.6. I’ve decided to use a grade 1 sae 5/16 and have done heavy blowing with no broken shear bolts. If I do break a bolt I guess I will step up to a grade 2. I’m using a 5/16 bolt due to the fact I can only get 8.8 grade and up in metric unless I order from LP.
