Bill, if the tire is good, tread and all, the bead just slips on the rim, I have used pine tar (like baseball players use on their bats for grip). Break the tire down, brush some pine tar on the bead and air it up. Beats throwing away a good tire!

I thought the one would have been more than enough!
In a weird series of events... I got my old one back home for good! :D

I'm contemplating putting hydrostatic steering on it.

Alright!
Actually, Carolyn guessed that is what happened.

Quick question, do copper crush washers go between the bottom if the injectors and the head, and another copper crush washer above the overflow adapters? I bought new injectors, and they did not come with copper washers? I have 3 I bought, do I need 3 or 6 copper washers?

Copper washers under the injectors, as designed, and injectors torqued to 33 lbft. Bled the fuel filter successfully, bled the injector pump successfully. Pushed the clutch, cranked the ol girl, and no fuel out the injector pipes. Never a good thing to not see fuel. Can honestly say I was not prepared for that.

Any insight would be most appreciated at this point. The new tank, new fuel line to the fuel filter, and a full tank are in place.

The copper washers only go between head and injector.

Aluminum washers with holes (non removable) goes between the injector and the overflow fittings and nothing on the nut side.

Very good, that is how they are installed. How likely is it that the injection pump lost it's prime, and if it did how long should I have to crank it to get fuel to the top of the injectors? I have nary a dribble at the injectors, and solid flow from the bleeder screw.

Have your throttle set at full on. Crank the engine for 15-20 seconds, wait a minute and do it again. It may take 5 or 6 attempts to get all the air out. Be patient and be sure to wait between cranking for your starter to stay cool.

Thank you D2, I will give that a shot after work. I was hitting the starter for 5-7 seconds per try last night. Charger is on the battery now, hopefully this evening she is running again.

Be certain that the manual shut down knob is fully seated in the run position.

I'm sure you're doing it, but you have to have the nut at the top of each injector loosened a turn or so. This allows the air in there to escape!

Thank you both. The new tank, new line, and new injectors are installed. The fuel filter bleeds have been accomplished, no bubbles on either port. The injection pump bleed has solid fuel, no bubbles when cranked over. The fuel shutoff at the filter is opened fully.

I have the injector feed line closest to the fuel tank off completely, and get no fuel when cranking over. I have to work late this evening, so it may be tomorrow before I get back to this. I do appreciate the insight from everyone.

Have all the fuel lines attached, only loose at the injectors. Do the bleeding process until you have fuel with bubbles at the top of each injector. Then continue the process until no bubbles are seen. Then tighten the nut on that line. Then continue the process on the remaining lines. When the next one is clear of air, tighten it, etc.

If you have any open lines air will enter there until you get the fuel to push it out. So once the fuel is coming to the injectors all air will be pushed out.

If your not getting any fuel to the injectors, Remove the injector lines completely, set the throttle to high and crank it, you should be getting a 6" or greater fountain out of the injection pump, if your not getting that, you have an issue. ;)

It took a while, but the 7100 runs again! New injectors, a fantastic fuel tank from 007KubotaGuy, new fuel line to the filter, new fuel filter, multiple bleeds, and a lost aluminum washer (long story, found and in place), and she fired and ran. Let her settle into a nice mid throttle warmup, took her around the block, and durned if she isn't doing what she was made to do. Good amount of black smoke under load, looks like my ol' Cummins when at work!

Fellas, I am grateful for the guidance and tips as I worked through this. Ready to flush the cooling system, and get the right front tire fixed, and put her back into service. I see why I got such a good deal on this, but still right around $2500 into her so far. Another $50-100 and she should be good for years to come.

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers on here, I hope you have a great day tomorrow!

Bill
