Glad it wasn't just me. Doubly irritating for me, stupid ad takes up half the page, and I'm not a dodge guy.:D

Last night's dinner did not sit well, gave me a sour stomach. I turned the add block off and sure enough, there was the Dodge commercial.:( Had to make a quick trip to the bathroom to pay homage to the great porcelain god. Upset stomach solved.:p:D

LMAO! I've got an '02 Dodge 1500 and it runs great! Oh shoot, I probably just jinxed myself. :p :D Still prefer Dodge to Ford though.

Never have understood this "loyalty" to one manufacture. At one time, I had a Dodge, Ford and Chevy. Each had a different job and I was satisfird with each. If I could build my own vehicle, it would contain the best of each. Wonder how many adapter kits I would need????

The "loyality" is, in my opinion, precipitated by a young man (probably 16, 17 years old) receiving a vehicle as a hand down from his dad. He knows nothing about a vehicle except it means freedom for him. So he likes no matter what it is. It was good enough for dad, it's good enough for him. Besides, it's free. He has no income so his dad has to buy the parts and helps him fix items that fail.

As time goes on he becomes more mechanically inclined and confident on repairs. He sticks with the same brand because of this feeling of security, not because it's the best vehicle-----it's all he knows.

My father grew up a Ford guy, tried switching to GM for a few years and it didn't work out so then he went Dodge. He's still a Dodge guy today.

I'm open to other manufacturers, next car will likely be a VW TDI of some flavor. Love the fuel economy on those. Drove one, it was nice.

I drive a new Ford Escape at work and it's nice too, wouldn't mind having one myself.

However, in the diesel pickup truck world, it's really hard to beat that in line Cummings in the Dodge trucks. Those are just good engines. I don't know about the new Eco-diesels, the do put up good economy numbers. 28mpg in a 1.5 ton pickup? Wow... but are they reliable? No idea.

The real numbers are in resale value, just like our Kubota's. 10 year old Dodge Cummings keeps 60-70% of it's value at 200,000 miles. Same can't be said for Ford or Chevy diesels. However, that generally means you can get an equivalent used Ford or Chevy cheaper and still have a good working Diesel on your hands, so there is a drawback to higher resale value!

I was a die hard dodge fan growing up. When i got old enough to buy from a dealer first place i went was to dodge. Salesman wouldn't even look at me. Went to another dodge dealer and ended with the same experience. Got p@$$ed off, went across the road to ford and drove off the lot with a 4 yr old ranger. Ended up being one of the most reliable vehicle trucks I ever owned. Had rotten luck with a dodge, and the tahoe my wife owned. Both nickled and dimed us to death. I've had my F150 for 10 years, been in the shop 3 times. With a total out of pocket of 2300$. We had both chevy and dodge for about 4 years. Averaged in the shop once every 6 months and 1000$ at least every time.

My '98 Dakota is now getting suspension work done, bushings and ball joints. Engine is still top notch, passed smog better than new. Just barely breaking in at 160K miles (I made the mistake of switching to synthetic too soon, 7K miles) so still expect it to last for quite a while longer. Just wish it was more fuel efficient.

Crappy Chrysler paint though, getting it repainted too...
