Has anybody had this problem? Just got a new L3901 HST. It has a noise that sounds like a spring releasing and hitting metal or clicking noise. As u drive it everything is normal and then it will make the noise and its good again for a little bit before it does it again. The dealer was out and at this point we can't really pin point where the noise is coming from. Every so often it pings/clicks and you can't tell where it comes from. I have a loader on it and a rototiller on the back.

Personally, remove the loader and 3pt and see if you can replicate the noise.

I agree with the wheels the lug nuts will loosen after a bit and need to be tightened, it is really not uncommon on all tractors for this to happen

Hi. Thanks for the thoughts. I retorqued all the wheels. All was good. Is there any solenoids, anything in the clutch that could be an issue? I don't think its in the trans/hst due to the fact that they run in oil but you can't tell exactly where it comes from.

Did you check the rim to wheel center nuts? Those are the ones that usually loosen and make noise.

I had an intermittent thunking sound when moving. Turned to be seat belt bumping against fender.

Kubota l2501.
Sounds like a metal rod smacking the bottom of the floor board.
Sounds like a spring loaded metal rod released and smacks the bottom.
I heard it quite a few times within 50 hours.
No ideal what it is.

Well I believe I have solved the clicking noise trouble. After much listening and feeling around tractor housings it appears my PTO linkage was set to tight, not enough free play from factory/dealer. It was so close that the PTO clutch cam could touch up against the other rotating clutch cam and basically hit it causing the clang/ bang. I backed off the linkage and all seems to be good. I have to talk to the dealer and make sure what I need for full engagement on the cable. I can’t find a setting/instruction for this anywhere for this. I’ll have to manually try to see where full engagement is and back off from there. Otherwise did a regen at 17 hrs. We weren’t working much at the time so I just stopped and let it do it’s thing while I had a beer.
