I've got the dreaded slow 3pt up travel dilemnam unless RPM's are maxed out, and even then when its loaded down, its pretty slow to raise up..
So i'm going to change the fluid and clean the screen filter on the suction side.
I do not have a FEL.
I just watched a video from Vic saying that i'll be fine with 80w90 seeing as mine is a gear shift and no FEL. I also read other stuff on here about using Kubotas specific fluid. So which is it?

Stick with UDT or a UDT compatible fluid, you'll be better off in the long run.

Have you check operation pressures?
You need to know that, to know if it's a pump, relief valve, or three point seal issue. ;)

I have not checked any operation pressures. Nor would i know where to install a gauge to test. Insight? I have the power steering/FEL hydraulic block on the brake pedal side. All feeds and returns are blocked off, or looped back (no power steering or FEL on this machine). Can i install a gauge some where on the block?

Yep that's exactly where you test it at. ;)

Ok.
I ordered a 3000psi gauge. I'll get the adaptors and get it fitted up.
What should i expect in good working condition?
What can i expect if it's not up to par?
Does it matter which port i tap into?

Need the serial # to be able to tell you that, they had 2 different hydraulic blocks on them. ;)

yeah I have been unable to find a serial number. I have the name plate riveted to the chassis on the drivers side, it shows model number and some other info but no serial number.

Take a picture of the Hydraulic block and I should be able to tell you new or old style.

Well a picture answers it all!
Because someone has removed the loop for the Power steering that's probably causing all your issues.
Factory without the Power steering, there is a block that goes between the 2 ports to keep it flowing.
Put a hose between the 2 fittings before you go any further and see what happens. ;)

So finally got around to messing with this.
Picked up a 3/8"x18" hose to loop back onto itself for the power steering return.
Well, I broke one of the specialty fittings that threads into the distribution block. Had to use an EZ-out to get the threaded section out of the block. Someone had installed a 90* adapter fitting and a straight adapter fitting. Like a dummy, I broke the straight fitting and of course it's some oddball thread that no local places have, atleast not the places open late on a Sunday. GRRrrr!

Does anybody know what the threads are on the hydraulic block? The adapters that were on my machine are 3/8"jic on the hose sides but i cannot figure out what they are on the block side.

Help. Tractor is dead in the water until i get this dealt with.

Sticking a caliper on the OD of the threads, I'm getting .67-.68" (11/16" SAE). I don't have a Metric Caliper.
I'm leaning towards it being NPSM; National Pipe Straight Mechanical or SAE O-Ring Boss. There is no taper to the threads, so it can't be NPT.

Edit; Found this thread where in post #12 a gentleman says he was able to match the threads in the hydraulic block as 3/8" BSPP.

Edit edit; So interesting turn of events. Using the Kubota parts lookup and the newly located serial number of my machine, I found a brand new Kubota power steering delete/bypass block kit on EBAY for $25 shipped. That includes the 2 banjo bolts, the 4 crush washers, the block and the plug ....the entire setup. I had pretty much given up looking for OEM parts for this machine. Every time i had previously, it lead to a dead end. WooHoo. Now i won't have some unsightly cobbled together loop hose. Instead, it will be a nice clean return with a clean factory look.

Alright, power steering by-pass block showed up.
Should I use some sort of thread sealer on the banjo bolts? I never use any when I do brake jobs.
Anyone have info on what I should torque the banjo bolts to? I was thinking probably 35-40ft-lbs?

The banjo bolts should seal with copper washers did you get those?
No thread sealer!

And don't torque them tight, snug then a little more, like 5 to 10 lbs max with copper washers is all it takes to seal them.

10-4. Yeah it came with copper washers. I'm hoping this helps the issue with the weak 3pt.

W00T!

Under full throttle, it rockets a 700lb 60" King kutter tiller up to max lift. :D
At half throttle, it is still faster than it used to be at full throttle.

She fixed. THANKS a ton NIW, for pointing me in the right direction.

Oh yeah. Considering i bought it with the weak 3pt/power steering issue, it's like a new machine to me, again. I can't wait to see how it acts with the 60" rotary cutters weight and leveraging on the 3pt. It really struggled to lift it up, before.
