Here in North Central PA, the lower part of my land just got dry enough to get in there so at least I got the grass cut before another three days of showers are coming. I was hoping to get some trees cut up for firewood before the hot weather arrives.
How about the rest of you? How are you coping with these spring conditions where ever you are?

We've had similar weather here. We'll get a week and a half of rain, then a few days of sunshine. Followed by another week of rain.

Past two times I've been able to finally get out and mow, the grass has been between 16 and 18 inches tall.

We had 15 tornadoes roll through the state last week and tons of flooding as well.

Work all the time, so no choice but to just deal with it.

Had a day off last week and as "luck" would have it, the weather cooperated just enough to get a day of fishing in. Destroyed them and had a really relaxing day for once. The next day, tornadoes, rain, flood.

Quite the opposite here, we've been cool and dry for all of the spring, which is not our norm, we usually have lots of cold spring rain, but nothing!

I've been at my place in the high country for 6 days now, and I haven't been able to get more than 4 or 5 hours of work per day since I got here. Rain, hail, or snow every day. Very unusual for the area at this time of year.

I haven't been able to complete the new shop. It's too wet to use the sky track to get the roof sheets up. I've had so much rain even thr usual firm ground is just a bog.
The sad part is about July the usual high pressure dome sets in over Texas and it will dry up to dust.

True. Saw some pictures recently, and they're worrying level on Lake Ontario may reach record flood level of 2017.

.

Dry here in the Alberta foothills. A week ago we had 15" of snow, that's what you get living next to the Rockies at 4400' ASL.

We actually need some rain, dry as a popcorn fart. Next door in BC they already have had some forest fires going.

Have the travel trailer ready to go so maybe next week we will go out.

Ray, interesting read! In the mid 70's there were articles published in US News & World Report, and another magazine i don't remember for sure the name, declaring in 30 years the climate would be cooling and not support life as we knew it then.

I found the article on the internet about 15 years ago, as it was printed, and saved it to my computer. I'll dig to see if I still have it. Doing a google search does not find it now.

It's amazing how "news" changes over time!!

Here's a link I found this morning. https://skepticalscience.com/ice-age-predictions-in-1970s-intermediate.htm

Lovely weather here, but I haven't had time to get on the tractor yet. Next week I have lots of backhoe work around the yard.

nothing like standing water in the "yard". at least i got out for a bit saturday evening and was able to mow some "grass". To add insult to injury, it started raining while I was mowing.

There's no chance I'll be mowing anything for at least a week or two.

Strange... I didn't realize the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers were "left wing wacK hobs".
(According to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, "Precipitation within the Great Lakes basin was about 15% below average in June.Jul 31, 2018)

(or is it the right wing wack hobs that simply make crap up to suit their rants?)

Nope my friend it was one of those doom and gloomers, that was rabid on how mankind was destroying the earth, we are going to live in an apolitical waste land. Seems you dont hear predictions along these line to much from the right side of the fence.
The earth goes through cycles hot then cold over and over, and she has been doing this for millions of years because the sun goes through cycles over and over and has for millions of years.
If you follow the money you will go down a wabbit hole that leads to an agenda. Only you can decide, whats right and whats wrong with it
