Need to replace L285 Engine, Help!!!

Hello all,

I just purchased a L285 that is in need of a new engine. The ID plate says it’s a V1500-A. I have an opertunity to buy a new V1505. Has anyone performed this swap? If it’s not a possibility, then where can I purchase a new or reman engine? I just don’t have time for a rebuild. Thanks!

Your L285 does not have a V1500, it has a V1501A, they are close to each other.
And no a V1505 will not fit in it, a lot of things have changed over the years.

You're probably not going to find a rebuilt engine, they are getting rare, you're most likely going to have to have someone rebuild yours if you don't have the time to do it.

Thanks for the info. I just had All States Ag Equipment tell me it’s a V1702? If anyone knows of a reliable builder. I’m interested. I’m Located in Reno, NV. I’ve got the means to work on it, just no time. I’d rather swap it out. More help please. Thanks All!
