I'm getting Rimguard added to the rear tires on my MX5800. I'm looking at putting wheel weights on it as well. Is that too much weight on the rear end? At 75% with Rimguard, that's about 1,100 pounds and I don't want to monkey anything up. I was going to add 3pt ballast as well, reasonably. Wheel weights are $800 for 4 of them (seems expensive to me) which includes mounting hardware, but will only give me just over 400 more pounds total. I'm getting 1,100 pounds of Rimguard for less than $200.

Nope you can't put too mush weight on the rear!
But I would be surprised if you will need the three point ballast when your done. ;)

Thanks mbu
Great article on ballast. I had this talk with my dealer. He says you can really cause damage if you get carried away. Also some of the growers I do work for are concerned about compaction issues and don’t want anymore weight in the field and then necessary.
Thanks James
