Need advice please on leaking axle

Thanks for the pics and great shot of the seal! I was pretty ill-prepared in terms of cleanliness. I started cracking things open while I still had a ton of dirt and muck all around the joints. Not too smart.

Hopefully this thread will be enough info to give some other guy or gal the confidence to do the job on their own in the future.

Man, I hope you do a better job of taking pics and/or video than I did! It'd sure be nice to see this process documented better. Either way, best of luck to you.
