I have noted several post of photos where people have added a Temp Gauge to the Kubota L2350. They are doing this by removing a PLUG that is on the head and putting a sending unit in place of the plug. Simple two wire +- gauge. In all the Post they say they got the unit from tractor smart or Kubota but no one posted which unit they used part # etc. Want to make sure I order the right one to fit the plug hole. Anyone know what one is the right one please let me. Thnaks

I just pulled the plug on my L2350DT and it is 3/8 NPT. I am getting ready to order the supplies to add and Temp and oil pressure gauge on my tractor. I will post pictures when I am done.

Are you sure it's NPT?
As most threaded ports on those models are BSPT?
They will be the same size just a different thread pitch.
NPT will start into a BSPT but will bottom out or cross thread after a couple of turns.

I took mine to the hardware store and it threaded perfectly into a 3/8 NPT fitting. I screwed it all the way in until the rubber washer came into contact. It may actually be BSPP since it uses a rubber washer to seal and looking at it again, there is no noticeable taper.

No taper should put NPT out of the running, at least all my NPT threaded items show a very slight taper.

I have the gauge installed. Still waiting on the adapter. The sending unit is 1/8 NPT and the Plug in the head is 3/8 BSPP. I was able to find an adapter from discounthydraulichose.com. I ordered a couple extras because I have a couple AMSOIL Bypass filter kits laying around that are old stock and I want one to install on the tractor.

The Gauge and Sending unit I got from EBAY. Depending on how you connect the wires you can have it blue during the day and red when you turn on the lights or vise/versa.

I will post pictures once I am done.

Here are pics of the Gauge. I thought I order Fahrenheit gauge instead of a Celsius, but its better than waiting for steam to come out of the radiator.

thats pretty cool and ....COOL!:)

think of it this way.....100 is NOW your new scale ....if'n you see it get to 100.....you are getting rather HOT (212) ......so I would expect it to be right at 95+ under normal conditions....maybe getting really close to 100 C :)

I would hope that it would get to 85 and stay there, you need the heat to cook off all the moisture in the oil and have an engine that works well.
