I'm at about 200 hours and going to replace my BX1870 front axle fluid with gear oil (it comes with SUDT2), as recommended by my dealer.

Should I drive the tractor around in 4wd first to warm up the oil a bit and stir up any sediment? Or is it better to just drain while cold since any sediment will likely have fallen to the drain points? I'm guessing I can file this one under "it doesn't matter enough to worry about it", but maybe it makes a difference?

It doesn't need to be in 4wd...all the front gears turn in 2wd also, just doesn't have tractive power applied.

That's interesting, but I think it makes sense now that I'm pondering it. Thanks for the tip!
