I had a BX2750 blower on my BX2200. Bad bearing, and impeller fan ate my housing. I was going to fork over $2500 for a new one when I found a 1 yr. old new model 2816 for $1000, but it was setup for the new mounting and shaft connector. After viewing the parts list of both, I bought it and ended up just having to switch out the mount (4 bolts) and the shaft "end" for the older swivel u-joint mechanism (1 bolt). hitched right up and works great. Just wanted to share that they are in fact the same housing and easy to swap.
