I bought a couple boxes several gun shows ago. Copper Only Projectiles, 185 gr copper hollow points, and I like them my 1911 likes them a little warm but spot on. NOW I cant find them, several places on line show them but alas they have none is stock and NOBODY seems to know who loaded them.
So anyone have any ideas, Im am thinking they may have come out of Brazil but I dont know that and I dont think they were loaded by aguilera (sp)

also, Liberty Civil Defense https://libertyammo.com/ has non-lead loadings. These are very lightweight frangible ammo that run extremely fast. My wife uses it in .38 +p in her S&W revolver. I will say that they seem to shoot point of aim (in my limited experience with them) despite the significant reduction in bullet weight. They are quite fast. One additional plus is that the entire cartridge is much lighter than regular loadings. So, you would likely notice the weight difference when carrying a full magazine of them.

I did a search probably the same as you did and came up with a goose egg. So I'm going to throw a suggestion out to ya. How about reloading your own? I did find the bullets( I believe) here: https://www.midsouthshooterssupply....pper-hollow-point-(schp-projectile)-100-count
Sooner or later I plan on getting into reloading myself. Asking around, some people say you can find some good deals on reloading equipment at gun shows.

Would like to know a little more about your 1911. Its on my list to get one someday chambered in 45 acp also.

Yopper,

I'll throw my two cents in here on the 1911 45 ACP....
bought this a couple of years ago.
Ruger SR1911
Not cheap nor expensive - very well made and shoots like a dream.

Natchez Shooters Supply has both ammo & copper bullets for .45 ACP. Looking at the ammo price makes me glad I have a Dillion press. Its an older 450 but turns out pretty consistent handgun ammo & I use on my AR ammo also.

I think you'll like it. I have the SR1911 Lightweight Commander (item no. 6711). Love that thing. Fun to shoot on the range and can be carried quite easily. Two thumbs up from me.

See Hickok45 reviews in SR1911's.
