This was my set up. We just got 16" to 18" of wet snow and it handled it well in
2 wheel drive.

How much better are R4's than Ag's on grass? I don't want to tear up a bunch of grass but it's also quite a bit to change fully over to R4's

Turf tires use a different rim than the AG or industrial tires.
And many owners say that turf tires are the best for snow because they have less area to pack snow into giving more tread to grip. I can't say first hand because I live where there is relatively no snow. (the reason I moved here).
But it does make sense since turf tires resemble automotive snow tires more than any other tractor tire. And for working on grass you will be best to stay with a turf tire. Unfortunately Kubota has the belief that their tires are worth their weight in gold and price them accordingly.
