I recently purchased an L295dt . The wiring has seen years of "enhancements"
The battery which appears fairly new keeps going dead. I have not checked it out but have a charger on it and will get the battery load tester on it soon. I was following the interesting wiring and found what looks to be a ballast resistor off a late 60s Dodge or Ford. It looks factory and some one has drilled into and jumped it with a thirty amp inline fuse. interestingly they have also added a piece of authentic looking hay wire to ground the device. The resistor looks factory installed but a check of the wiring diagram in the service manual I have does not identify the item. It doesnt show any kind of a resistor?
Can anyone shed any light on what its purpose is? and what we call it?
The wiring is due for a complete going thru, the head lights do not work, and several wires are the fuse box have been adjusted for some purpose beyond what the factory envisioned.
Thanks
