hello everyone I'm a proud owner of a new l3901 and am looking for a skid plate for it. Last weekend I had a stick jam up into the lines for the oil cooler filter. This bent the lines and caused the O-rings to fail. I can build a skid plate but was hoping I could just buy one. Has anyone seen one for this model tractor? I just hit 100hrs on it and made my first payment yesterday. So far it's a great machine.

My L4060 has (2) areas underneath that I plan to add protection to. Notably where the loader hydraulic connections are perpendicular to travel direction, where I can see snow packing up against them. I doubt you will find a ready made product for your tractor.

Welcome to the OTT forum Broaddus. Glad you joined with us.
I have had some of the same problems and have been looking for something similar for my model as well. The worst time was when a stick got wedged in the brake linkage and I had to kill the engine with it in gear to stop.
If you find anything, please let me know. Thanks.

I am interested in this as well for my L3901.

Good choice OP. I've had mine for a year and have nearly 90 hours on it, it's been a good one!

I have seen skid plates for the BX series but nothing for the l3901 so far. I may just try to get a local fab shop to go in on making them with me. What would be the interest from our other members? Anyone have a price point they think would be good?

I would be interested in a skid plate for my L3901 (with 4 hours on the clock) before I get a stick jammed up in it also. $200-$250 range sounds reasonable if made of heavy gauge steel, like 12Ga.

I wonder if a skid plate for a 3901 would also fit a 3301 and a 2501. I would like one for my 2501.

$250 for the plate and probably $250 for shipping. Maybe just plans for a local guy would be better ? Sell the plans $

I did some plotting on a skid plate today. Looks like I can make one out of a 4'x3' piece of 1/8" plate. This will protect most of the easily damaged things under my L3301. My brother is a welder and can do the welding in a neat fashion but I can tack it together.
The lowest thing under there is the 4 wheel drive lever. Can mount easily to the FEL supports in front and the ROPS bar that drops down in the rear and unbolt the rear mounts and let the back swivel down for service under there if needed.
The plate will extend over to the right to protect the hydraulic filter area.
Probably won't protect against a land mine, but sure would keep limbs, etc from getting up into the stuff under the tractor.
I had some damage with my old tractor from an oak sapling . Don't think them sticks can't tear up some stuff !!!!$$$$$
I am now officially on the hunt for steel plate !
