I have a l1-285 Kabota tractor which I recently purchased and want to service. I cannot find serial numbers and would like to know what type of oil and aircleaners will suit this tractor.

alan
Alan,

if not mistaken - you have a D1302 engine, engine oil to use? I would imagine any 10w-30 oil you guys down under have for diesels will work well. Synthetic oil if you like. OR perhaps a 15w-40, the real question is the temperature ranges the tractor is used in, that might sway the weight of the oil to start with.

Air filter.......
I believe this is the right one:

Your engine is the same as the North American D1302 that is used in L275

Sorry to say you are mistaken
The L1-285 has a V1512 engine

Air filter your probably right on.

Negative, if anything it would be closer to the L285 which has a V1501, But the L1's are newer than the L285's and are more in line parts wise with the L2050, L2250, L2550, L2850, L3350 series of tractors.

Any 15-40 diesel oil, any tractor/hydraulic oil if it's non HST/GST. Mobilfluid 424 is equivalent to Kubota UDT and available at oil depots.
Filters, clean them up and see if you can get a part number off them.
Give Sota tractors or Midway sales a ring, they may have filters/specs/manuals available for your machine.

EDIT:
Please note: we are unable to accept parts enquiries by phone, from customers that didn't buy a tractor through SOTA. Please email SOTA, using the form below and our service staff will respond as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding.

Your engine specifies 10W-30 but Kubota released a statement that 15w-40 can be used, probably as long as temps don't go to low. I can't recall where I saw the statement, should look it up I suppose. I use 15W-40
Here is a Jap user manual with filter part numbers in it, oil quantities, greasing points and lots more if you can read Japanese!
Also noted is the engine - V1502-DI
Plus a Jap electrical diagram!
Does your tractor have a working Monroe-matic system?
