Default Need help in buying l1500?

Hi I am going to look at an L1500 and no nothing about them. If anyone has any advise on what to look for I'ld be greatfull.
The seller says it is a 17hp diesel, with 8 fwrd and 2 rev. gears, he say's it has a gannon but really needs a weight on the front and is asking $2500.
I would like to get it to to some work on my lot but mostly to use with a little 5 ton dump I bought a while back to do light work in my area to sup. mt SS income.
Feel free to reply directly to my email "wesjg@cableone.net" Thx...Wes

Wes, if it runs, starts OK and seems to have good power, buy it. $2500 is good price. The L1500/1501 2WD's were real featherweights on the front end with any inplement mounted on the 3 point.

Kubota made front wheel weight available for those 12", 4 bolt front rims, as well as a pancake front bumper weight and a really rare, under battery weight.

All together, these lumped on over 100lbs.

Thanks for the reply, I did get it for 1800 and it seems to run just fine. It does need a seat or recovering, oil change and filters.
I will look into getting a book an attatchments. Thx...Wes
