Hello to everyone, I am new to this forum and hoping to see about parts for my old W5021 SC walk behind mower. My Dad bought it new in 1989, it still starts and runs like a champ (no surprise there) but the clutch is binding up terribly. It takes a very slow, sensitive motion to get the blade to engage without stalling the motor because of the extra binding pressure of the clutch plate. I purchased a Troybilt walk behind a year ago because the Kubota is not efficient in its operation as outlined above. The Troybilt is fine, does what I need (I don't do much handmowing, most of what I've got can be done with the ride-on machines), but I haven't given up on getting the Kubota back up to spec, now just for nostalgia;) I can't find any parts for it, not Ebay, not standard internet search, contacted multiple dealers for the possibility of NOS parts gathering dust on their shelves--nothing. Any hope for this old but strong running machine? Thanks :)

Here's a complete parts schematic and part number listing of the blade clutch assembly. I checked a few part numbers; they cross up and are still listed as active.

Hope this helps.

Wow-this has got to be the first Kubota lawnmower tech posting we've had!

I'd better let Mr K. know so he can 'ring the bell' in the shop for us!

Thanks so much for this, it does help plenty! Sounds like there's hope for this old beast:)

Eternasol, how did you make out with the W5021?
jmartin, I see you're in Durham, NC. I'm in Winston-Salem. Do you still have a w5021 or have interest in one? I have one from 1993, but the drive axle broke last summer. I'm trying to find a good home for it but difficult to even find people who know they exist. Engine runs good so I hate to just trash it. Let me know if you'd have any interest or know anyone that might. Thanks.

TRW Kubota,
Did you find a home for your W5021. I have a 5021 SC bought for $65 and a 5021 SCE trash find. I love these mowers. Best I ever owned for their size
I could use your mower. I have a problem with my SCE.

Can anyone tell me if the clutch plate should float freely or be attached to one side of the pressure plates. My SC is attached and My SCE floats freely it doesn't look like it should be that way. Its off center and hit my fan with its outer edge. I think my crank may have a small bend in it. It throws the clutch plate out

I am looking for a crankshaft for my walk behind. Anyone have one they would like to sale to me? If so, what price?

I'm not sure on the answer to the clutch question.

Hi just wanted to chime in here on the parts search. Avoid using Sea*s Par*s Dire*t for any of the parts you need as there are major markups through them, usually around 100%, that's the big reason they are ranked at the top of any searches related to W5021 or W5019. You will find on the Kubota main website that they still sell 90% of the parts believe it or not for your model Kubota walk behind mower, the available parts list through them are much more complete than any other site.

-Search Kubota (Bing / Google) or simply Kubota.com
-On their main website if on mobile scroll down and click Full Site
-Click Parts up top
-Click Illustrated Parts List
-Scroll down the legal jargon and click I Accept then Open
-Change search type to Ends With
(If you know your deck size, usually 21, but aren't sure what type model: W5021-SCC is full commercial with transmission and bumper guard and 9" steel wheels, W5021-SC has transmission and 8 inch plastic wheels, W5021-SCE has transmission and electric start, W5021-PC has no transmission and 8 in wheels, this covers most models)
-Enter SCC, SCE etc then Search, your model 21/19 will pop up.
-What I normally do is find my part number (10 digit that looks like 65601-21115) then Search that in Google and a company called either Coleman Equipment Group or Golden Eagle Direct will pop up and compare the prices, but going through Kubota usually is not bad either. Hope this helps.

Coleman Equipment is a Kubota dealer. In fact, three locations in KC area.

hey yall, i just got me a Kubota W5021 self propelled mower from my supervisor. and so he is saying that the parts are hard to find for that particular mower for it being 36 years old. my question is what are better companies than sears parts direct? sears is just way too expensive. thanks in advance!!

You haven't upset me, but you still haven't deleted the double post, I'm giving you as much info as I can, but you need to play ball as well. Maybe you can't delete in this forum, I can't remember..........
