I was wondering the reason for the weight difference in my B8200.

The physical size of the B8200,L2502,LX2620 are almost the same, yet the L weighs more.

So the added weight associated with the L series is due to the cast steel?

Last follow up question: Have you ever heard of an aluminum case fail?
