    L3800 Tie rod removal

I was able to get both out with a new set of ez outs. Luckily, they had the drill sizes etched on them and I had the proper size, and it was sharp to boot! The fittings were harder than I expected. Thanks Dave

    BH77 Hydraulic Concerns

If/when you remove the BH77, make sure to couple the inlet/outlet hoses on the tractor together.

    Battery Maintainer - Running Voltage?

Seems a little high. Usually lead acids are bulk charged around 14.2V and float (aka trickle) around 13.8V. https://batteryuniversity.com/article/bu-403-charging-lead-acid

    L3800 Tie rod removal

The grease fittings in my outer tie rod ends were both broken off by the PO. It looks like it will be easier to deal with this on the bench vs sitting on the garage floor. I'm assuming it will be comparable to removing a tie rod on a car which I have the tools for. Any idea on thread size? I...

L3901 won’t lift and curl at the same time.

I have an LA524 on my L3800 and asked the same question a few weeks ago. After others stating it should work, I went out and played with it. On mine, there is a very small sweet spot where both functions work simultaneously. It's from 6:00 O'clock to about 6:05 :-) Hard to say if that's a...

LA524 Rolling back bucket while lifting

Thanks everyone. I must be missing the sweet spot. Funny that it operates this way because the manual specifically states to roll and lift at the same time to scoop material! Dave

LA524 Rolling back bucket while lifting

While clearing snow from our driveway, I was trying to scoop the piles by lifting and rolling back the bucket at the same time. It doesn't work, I can choose one or the other but not both. Is this normal? Thanks Dave

    Implement Height Stop Thumbscrew Upgrade

I found my lever at the local bicycle shop. It's meant for seat posts. The threaded portion was a little long, but the hacksaw fixed that. It was about $6. I took an M6x1 nut with me to check the thread.

    Do tractor newbies know ?

No, it's one of those things that's isn't obvious, even to someone with a high mechanical aptitude (me). A lot of 3 point implements are purchased used, without manuals, and missing parts. I really wish someone would post some videos like "Owning a tractor for city folk" explaining what is...

    Auger stand

I was going to build one but found out that my rolling shop crane works just as well. Takes up a little more space than necessary but at least I didn't have to add another item in the garage.

    lubrication of three point hitch

The local bicycle shop will have some synthetic wax based products for bike chains. They go on as a liquid but dry up and leave the lube behind. Bike chains have the same problem as the joints on the 3 pt hitch, oil and grease pick up dirt, wax usually doesn't.

    Zerk size

I believe SAE threads are correct for a USA market tractor.

Tie Rod End Taper Loose In Casting

If you want to fix it, there are a few companies that make the proper tapered insert. You drill an over sized straight hole, slide in the insert, and tack weld it if you're ambitious. They're used to flip tie rods over on old Jeeps.

    Service Manual Recommendation

Thanks for that info, I hadn't considered it was a non-US version.

    Service Manual Recommendation

https://www.kubotamanual.com/ I asked if the manual for my L3800 was a scanned copy or original from Kubota, they replied an original PDF. Dave

Big boots catching on HST pedal

My size 12 work boots are a perfect fit to catch under both front and back of the HST pedal when I'm getting out of the seat. I'm afraid one of these days I'm going to do some real damage to my right knee because I have to twist to get out (I'm 6'-2" and mostly legs). Has anyone fabbed a pedal...

Removing BH77 from L3800, one pin hard to pull

I peeked with an inspection mirror last time, it almost looks like a fore/aft misalignment than up/down, so no amount of nudging the outriggers will matter. If I only had a 5' long reamer... I believe I have the factory manual which hopefully shows installation of the subframe. One of these...

Removing BH77 from L3800, one pin hard to pull

Thanks for the tips everyone. I'll check the holes in the bh with a pipe next time I have it off to see if they're true to each other. Maybe someday in the summer I'll pull the tires and do the same with the holes on the subframe. In either case, I just finished a really cool dolly for the bh...
