i know this is an old thread, but how are you liking the flail? been looking at either a bestco, or the 54" woodmax. i have a bx2380, with about 18hp at the pto. the wooded area i need to keep clean, a rotary cutter would just be to big to move around.

I thought with the bx2380and 54" mower, the most you can go is 1.25".

I rarely take off my mmm, unless it's to clean it. It stays on year round. I live in southern Indiana, so we don't ever get that much snow, where it would cause an issue in the winter time. Works great the rest of the year protecting the underside if I'm ever out in the woods.

Also, the BadBoy rotary mower looks pretty well built also. That's another one I've been eyeballing.

The rcr1548 is the one i was looking at. My dealer recommended the 1248, haven't had a chance to ask him why not the 1548. It's only 11lbs heavier and about 2" longer. It's rated to cut 2" and the lighter one 1" I have a bx2380. Anyone try the 1548 with a bx2380?
