    Serial Number on L2550

Where would I find the serial number on a L2550? Insurance is asking and on the bill of sale it's only a five digit number which seems odd. Shouldn't it be longer?

    L2550 GST Restoration

I fabricated all parts. They wanted around 700-800 each for fenders alone. It would have cost 3-4k to buy everything.

    L2550 GST Restoration

Last winter I bought a 1984 L2550 GST. It was mechanically good, however had significant rust. I spent the summer striping it down to the engine, transmission and axles and re-painting it. I can only upload 5 pictures. If you want to see the whole build here is a link to all the pictures(they...

    Battery Electrolyte Sensor

Thanks. Looked at taking dash off to remove pulp and the dash is hitting the cab. This will be easier than lifting the cab.

    Battery Electrolyte Sensor

My L2550 has a battery electrolyte sensor. The battery I have is a closed cell. Other than taking of the dash and removing the bulb is there anyway to get the warning light to turn off. I have attached a screenshot of the manual and a picture of what I think is the sensor wire.

    Hydraulic Problems

Anyone know the exact size of these o rings. I ordered some from the dealer but will take a few days. If I had the correct sizes I could probably find some in stock locally. I took them of and the 2 that are labeled as 150 on the diagram are not the same sizes. So one shrunk or the other...

    Hydraulic Problems

That was it. However just as I feared it looks like I blew a seal or something. Oil is coming out off the 2 bolts besides the knob. I assume it's one or all of the or rings shown on the diagram(part 150 and 170). Could it be something else before I start ordering parts?

    Hydraulic Problems

I have a L2550 GST. I just finished tearing it down to fix and repaint it. I had everything of the tractor. There was only motor, transmission and axles left. While apart I also took apart the rear axle to change a seal. Change the hydraulic filter and put in new hydraulic oil. This weekend I...

    Window latches

Thanks. They are actually the manufacture of my cab. I also did notice they don't appear to build cabs anymore. I'll contact them anyway to see what they say. I'll let you know what they say.

    Window latches

Were I can I find window latches like these? Actually only need the little round piece on the bottom of the picture but would buy the entire hinge if I can find it. I have searched online and only found some in Europe. Surely these are sold somewhere in North America.

    Tabs on the rims

What is the purpose of this part of the tab? Is this to add strength/rigidity? Someone suggested it might be to bolt a wheel weight. As you can see from the picture the tab is rusted. Some even worst than this one. Can I just put a flat plate instead of that Z shaped one? I would use the same...

    L2550 rear axle seal

Not the answer I was hoping for but thanks.

    L2550 rear axle seal

I know the cover can't slide over the axle flange. I just thought it might be like a ford 9" rear end. You take the 4 bolts off and the axle and cap come of. Replace seal and re assemble.

    L2550 rear axle seal

Anyone? Somebody must have changed one of these before.

    Paint

I'm not that overly concerned with matching as I'm painting the whole tractor and cab. I do want a color that is close but doesn't have to match perfectly. I'm just wondering if it's good paint that will last.

    Paint

Anyone have any experience with the Kubota orange paint that Home Hardware sells? Is this good paint? I assume this could be used in a pray gun? https://www.homehardware.ca/en/235ml-kubota-orange-alkyd-implement-rust-paint/p/1823942.

    L2550 rear axle seal

My real axle seal is leaking. If I remove the 4 bolts pictured on the cap will the axle just pull out? Is there anything inside the rear end that hold the axle or that will come apart if I pull out the axle?

    Snowblower Setting

I assume when saying cutting edge your talking about the 3/8" thick flat bar that is bolted to the bottom of the snow blower. I hadn't realized that it was there and easily changeable when it wears out. I'm going to adjust the shoes so that the blower sits lower and see if this helps. Currently...

    L2550 gst

I will try again. I thought I saw I needed 5 post to send PM. The message I sent seemed to have gone true but maybe it didn't. This post will make 5 so I will try again.

    Snowblower Setting

How low to the ground should my snowblower be set. I had someone tell 3/4". I find it's leaving a bit to much snow. I understand to close to the ground it will rub and wear out the bottom but 3/4" seems like a lot. I have a paved driveway if it makes a difference.
