I haven’t seen a gas station that is set up for cash sales in years. When they say cash/credit prices it means debit/credit cards. If you want to buy gas with cash, you have to pay the attendant what you think you will need before they turn on the pump and they will only authorize what you paid...
I foot of rotary cutter width per 5 pto HP is the rule of thumb. For example, a tractor with 25 pto HP can run a 5 foot cutter. Pto HP, not engine HP. Pto HP is always less than engine HP.
To me the key thing about towing heavy trailers is where you’re towing and what travel speed. I don’t feel safe on interstate and highways towing with a half ton truck at 75mph in traffic. Tooling around backroads and secondary roads at lower speeds is not an issue. Needing to brake in traffic...
With a 3/4 ton+ truck, the trailer doesn’t push the truck around and often I have to remind myself that I’m pulling a trailer. I had many 1/2 tons prior to buying 3/4 ton trucks. The difference is real. But much of my driving is on interstates at 75mph. Tooling around at low speeds, I would feel...
You CAN haul your tractor and trailer with either truck. It will be safer and handle far better with the 3/4 ton truck. Engine HP and torque are kinda negligible for this consideration. You can pull with either. However the truck/trailer will handle on the road much better with the heavier truck...
If you haven’t hauled a tractor that size before, get at least a 7000# dual axle trailer, 16’ if no implements, 20’ with implements, trailer brakes, and 3/4 ton+ truck. Or buy pay a hotshot to deliver.
I noticed that TSC sells the common gold lynch pins, and also a black colored pin for a bit higher price. The black ones have stronger tension and don’t come off. They will snap your fingers if you’re not careful.
