New L2501 low trans fluid at 10 hours

Ours was the same when it came. Like said 3 point down, bucket down and curled. Parked small left slope and sight glass was filled. We were only a quart low or so. I did this test once filled to top of sight glass: Hydraulic Oil Level Test No implement on 3 point hitch, oil at operating...

L2501 HST- PTO will not disengage w/lever

This is the most common problem I believe. Shaft/shaft area does require regular maintenance as crud gets jammed in there between case and lever on shaft and seems to prevent the light duty spring from returning it. GD

    L2501 HST stalls in high

And a whole lot of L2501 owners will now be crawling under their tractor to look at these springs now.............. Was under there greasing pivots recently and did not specifically check the brake pedal return springs, will now. Thanks for letting us know what it was on your machine. GD

    L2501 HST stalls in high

You are the first I have heard of, wish ours did. Our L2501 with FEL, filled rear tires and rotary cutter hung on back (not running) will at full throttle not pull full travel speed in high. Very, very slight down hill and it will pull full speed with rotary cutter on back. Drop the rotary...

    L2501 Transmission/Hydraulic Fluid

The shafts take up a lot of space in the cylinder on one side and also remove significant square inches of space to push on thus dropping strength/pounds of push in that direction. Fluid held on the shaft side could be 50% or much less of that on the other side. In the retracted direction the...

    Any luck plugging tires?

Yes, I have used standard tire plugging kits from the auto parts house but also buy the adhesive for extra help. Did a water filled tubeless rear a couple months ago that had a "big" hole in between treads of an R4. Rotated hole up, put block under rear end to hold tractor up. Tried to put in...

    Hydraulic fluid amount

So I finally had time to test our L2501 HST for hydraulic fluid level in sight glass with 3 point hitch (3ph) and no implement on it so I got full down travel and 525 front end loader (FEL) up and down and this is the results at operating temperature: 1. FEL down, bucket curled in; 3ph down =...

    Hydraulic fluid amount

And, on our model tractor I found you should not have an implement on the 3 point which keeps it from going all the way down or all the fluid will not be back in reservoir and reading is erroneous in that instance. GD

Being new doesn't make it perfect.

Ours had loose lug bolts/nuts and loose FEL main frame attachment bolts. GD

Being new doesn't make it perfect.

Should not the dealer take care of all of this? Granted it is a huge pain to wait for them, they should make it all good. Sounds to me like all dealer induced issues and they should be sending service truck out, pronto, to get it all correct as well as do a complete check over of the tractor...

    Bio Kleen PowerService Questions

No such thing as winter fuel here and what we do get seems to want to gel without much cold. Lowest we have gotten the last couple years is +20F. We run both year round just in case. Cheap insurance at the very low gallons of fuel a year we run through. EDIT TO ADD: Also run Bio Kleen at same...

    Bio Kleen PowerService Questions

Power Service web site says running both white and silver bottle at same time is just fine in their recommended dosages. GD http://powerservice.com/learning/can-i-use-diesel-fuel-supplement-cetane-boost-and-diesel-kleen-cetane-boost-at-the-same-time/

    Inner Air Filter L2501

It is most likely an extra cost they do not see as necessary on this model for some reason. I would not believe Kubota would offer it for this model if it had any determental effect on performance. To me it is just an inexpensive insurance policy to show if the outer filter has failed. How...

    Kubota L2501 - initial review

No idea how they did it, but considering we drained several gallons out to get to theoretical 75% at 12 o'clock valve stem I made the assumption they were full. And both sides were approximately the same. After draining , inflating and rechecking the fill is right at valve stem, 12 o'clock. GD

    Kubota L2501 - initial review

Our plate is/was still there after FEL install. Same dealer as yours probably but different location, Ventura. They did however put just water in rear tires as ballast and filled 100% not 75% as manual tells them. Go figure. GD

What will happen if guns get banned?

It is the definition of "Assault Weapon" which will get you. All semi auto hand guns and Ruger 10/22 as just a couple examples of what was listed here in Kalifornia. There will be nothing that makes any sense when done. Agreed all out ban will not happen for at least many generations with...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Mowing tall, 3 to 4 feet, grass with rotary cutter punched a hole in filled rear tire. Nice little gouge in face of tire between cleats and a little spout of water coming out about the size of a pencil lead.:(:(:( Probably a sharp stick of some sort................ GD

    Phone calls

It is the plague of the phone technology age. Heard on the radio the other day that 2 billion robo calls are placed EACH MONTH with 80% the US ones originating in Los Angeles. I have several thousand blocked numbers on my cell phone and only get a few that are tried again. We have all the...

    My tractor is currently stuck...

If you know where the engine oil level was, check it after a few minutes sitting level. Will not take log for liquids to flow back. Even cold oil. Me, I would start it. GD
