Four-wheel drive; Not all tires turning

Thanks, y'all. I'm not towing anything. Dirt is dry and does not fill lugs of tires. It's just physics. I'll stay away from hills that are too steep.

Four-wheel drive; Not all tires turning

Brand-new heavy-lug tires, steep hills, loose dirt. Since it doesn't lock all four wheels like my Yamaha Rhino, it's just not going to be as capable. There are limits to the steepness of hills this machine will climb. Period.

Four-wheel drive; Not all tires turning

Thanks to all of you. I guess I'm in a rare situation. It's often that the two rear wheels and the right front are spinning and I'm going nowhere... :-) Jim

Four-wheel drive; Not all tires turning

Howdy, I have a new L3901 manual transmission. Two things: When I engage four-wheel drive with the "heel" lever behind my right foot and then try to climb a hill, I get stuck. The rear wheels and only the right front wheel spin. The left front wheel does not spin nor does it seem to be...

Float Detent Valve for Top Cylinder

I told the dealer to make all the couplings on the tractor female. I will be taking redelivery of the tractor tomorrow. Then I can switch hoses as I see fit. The dealer's service tech told me he mixes the females and males so that customers don't mix up their hoses. Yeah. All will be fine...

Float Detent Valve for Top Cylinder

I don't know if the tilt cylinder does the same thing. Tractor is at shop right now.

Float Detent Valve for Top Cylinder

I just insisted on this. I am being told that it's typical in the smaller tractors to have pairs of male-female for each implement. I have reviewed the 3-Valve Stack Kit installation manual and the Top N Tilt Kit installation manual. Each has numerous contradictions with what sex couplers go...

Float Detent Valve for Top Cylinder

According to the dealer, the float detent valve is not symmetrical like a spring center detent valve (disregarding the float portion.) Assuming the tilt cylinder is fully retracted (back wheel of mower UP) IF the hoses from the valve to the cylinder have been reversed, pushing the lever...

Float Detent Valve for Top Cylinder

Anything is possible with this dealer. I'm told that I am the first one ever at this dealer (in business since the 1950s) to have 3 remotes, all Float Detent, with a top-and-tilt. I'm fine with FLOAT being all the way forward. What is NOT fine is that pushing forward RAISES the back wheel of...

Float Detent Valve for Top Cylinder

The dealer says that swapping the hoses makes it work completely incorrectly, as written in my original post.

Float Detent Valve for Top Cylinder

My Kubota Top-and-Tilt kit was installed on my new L3901DT by the dealer. Pushing forward on the top cylinder valve lever raises the back wheel of the mower (shortens the top cylinder) Pushing FURTHER forward goes into FLOAT, DROPPING the back wheel of the mower (depressurizes and lengthens...

Rear Valves - Salesman's Got No Clue

Meantime, have a look at that photo. I used my tractor and box scraper for the first time yesterday. All I did was drag the box along a trail, raising and lowering it a few times where the drag of the box overcame the pull of the tractor. When I got to the end, I saw that the lower left...

    HR2572 Box Scraper Hydraulic Connection

Just tried to connect my HR2572 box scraper hydraulic lines for the second time. Worked fine the first time. The second time, I could not get one of the connectors to connect. I depressurized the hydraulic system, yet every time I tried to insert the connector, it was forced back out with...

Rear Valves - Salesman's Got No Clue

Thanks to both of you. I spoke with the salesman, service manager and service technician on speakerphone for half an hour yesterday. I told them how surprised I am that they can be in business for so many decades yet have this problem. I was told that no one EVER puts a Float Detent Valve on...

Thanks, Wolfman. I'll have a look at them when I get home.

Rear Valves - Salesman's Got No Clue

The dealer says this regarding the backwards operation of the top link float detent valve: "To fix the problem on the Top Link, the Service Manager recommends going back removing the Float and putting a regular Detent Valve back in it place and then that will fix the issue of the reverse...

Rear Valves - Salesman's Got No Clue

Thanks, Paul, and thanks, MtnViewRanch (you were posting as I was posting!) Reviewing my Operator's Manual, I see that pushing forward on the 3-point hitch position control lever lowers the implement and that pushing all the way forward puts the 3-point hitch in float. That should be the same...
