    coughing blood? injector issue?

Re: coughing blood? injector issue? UPDATE Hi All, I tried everything I could think of to get the injectors out. Slide hammer, heat, pounding and prying, etc. Finally decided to pull the head and take it to the dealer thinking they might know a trick. Good news was they got the injectors...

    wanted B6000 cylinder head

Hi djmc35, Thanks for the reply. I found a used head. I did see the new heads listed on ebay (painted green). I saw the same heads in a few places, but close ups of the heads showed a lot of poor casting signs (rough edges etc.) so I went with the used head. She's all back together now...

    coughing blood? injector issue?

Thanks Wolfman. I have tried to remove the injectors before, but was not able to get them to budge. I removed the fuel lines and bolts that hold the brackets over the injectors. The injectors would not move. I tried light tapping with a hammer but no good. I gave up for fear of damaging...

    coughing blood? injector issue?

Hi All, I have an old B6000. She has been a great tractor but she seems very sick. It has been hard to start for quite a while. Lots of blue smoke, only firing on one cylinder after long preheat (even in summer). I went out to start the other day and she coughed up a lot of liquid from the...

    Need to split the B6000

Hi Jay, I replaced the clutch on my B6000. It was pretty straightforward. Here are a few tips. 1) If it has a loader take that off first. 2) Think through how you will hold up the two halves. One will need to be rolled away so you can work on the clutch. 3) When my B6000 was new to me, the...

    L245DT rims

Hi, I'm looking for a new rear rim for my L245DT. Rim is stamped TOPY 12-79 W9 x 24 8.2. It has 11.2 / 10 X 24 ag tires. Web search yields part# 32470-27650 cost about $370. I also found W9 X 24 rim at Wold Rim & Wheel cost about $100. The only difference seems to be Kubota has an "S"...

    B6000 loud knocking

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll start by inspecting the oil pan and filter. It needs a change anyways. I'll let you know how i make out.

    B6000 loud knocking

Hi All, My old B6000 seems to have a major problem. It has always been hard to start and blows a lot of blue smoke until warmed up. I was running it yesterday. Seemed normal for about 1/2 hour. Then it started to "knock" very loudly. Oil pressure light began to flicker On/Off (normally...

    B6000 power loss

Did you run out of fuel lately? What you describe sounds like my B6000 before I bleed the air out of the fuel system. Doesn't cost anything to bleed the lines. It will also tell you if the pump is working. Good luck

    Dr Chipper opinion

GWD thanks for the reply and photo's. I have a set of forks which I use now to move brush and logs. I found a video of the DR chipper at work, and agree that it is very slow. Besides, there's nothing like a roaring pile of brush on a cold winter day! Todd

    Dr Chipper opinion

I'm looking for any comments about a 3ph Dr Chipper. I saw one on craigs list for $750 and was currious if they are worth the money. I have 25 acres of forest with lots of brush to clean up. I realize that it won't be as fast as a big chipper, but will it cleanup brush faster than piling and...

    oil pressure light comes on

Hi Koppel, Thanks again for the suggestion. I hooked up a cheap pressure gauge last night. She's running around 40 psi. perfect. I ordered the sending unit today. Todd

    Something keeps killing my battery!

Hi Eric, It sounds like a wire problem to me as well. Double check those new wires. Make sure they haven't worn through somewhere and grounded. Then check all the large gauge positive wires. I had a similiar problem a few years ago. I ran some heavy wires to the rear of the tractor to...

    Tire chains

Hi Skeets, What type of tires do you have? If you have ag tires, you need the more expensive chains which will keep the crossover chains on top of the tire lugs. I bought some basic chains for my B6000 and the crossovers just settle down in between the lugs. Totally useless.

    oil pressure light comes on

Thanks for the comments Koppel. I did change the oil, cleaned the screen filter, and replaced the external filter with Kubota filter. I will try to find a gauge and check out the pressure. I may also do another oil change. The old oil was very nasty, so it may still be clogging things up...

    oil pressure light comes on

The oil pressure light on my B6000 keeps turning on. Tractor starts OK and runs fine. After 10 or 15 minutes the light comes on. I have changed the oil and filter. The oil was nasty, very black, thick and gooey. Ran the tractor a few times with no light. I was out plowing snow today and...

    Skidding Winches

I have seen huge trees pulled with a Farmi winch. The only problem I saw was that the winch would pull the tractor if the tree was to heavy. Like any tool, it only makes sense if you use it enough to justify the cost. I maintain 25 acres in VT and there is aways another tree to salvage. Most...
